As Founder, Senior Vice President, and Principal of MLM-Martin Architects, Inc., Miguel L. Martin, AIA ("Sr.") has led the firm since its establishment in 1992, following his early success as a sole practitioner. Miguel L. provides our clients the utmost commitment in developing their visions into a reality. With more than four decades of experience across all phases of architectural practice, he brings a depth of knowledge and leadership to every project, serving in various roles such as Architect of Record, Project Manager, Project Architect, QA/QC, and Principal-In-Charge.

Miguel's personal commitment to efficient, cost-effective design has earned him client confidence, evident in his continued working relationships with repeat clients over the years. Attention to detail with strong intercommunicative skills among project team members leads to prompt solutions, keeping projects both on budget and on time.
Miguel L. has successfully led a diverse portfolio of work spanning commercial, themed entertainment, K-12 education, government, aviation, animal shelters, parks and recreation, and mosquito control centers, community-based projects, and more. Throughout his career, Miguel L. has guided MLM on a wide range of projects from complex renovations, straight-forward packages with tight deadlines, to large-scale new construction. His approach blends creative vision with technical precision, ensuring each client’s goals are transformed into built environments that are functional, efficient, and inspiring.
Miguel L. is known for fostering long-term client partnerships grounded in trust, transparency, and results. Since joining the firm as Vice President in 2007, Miguel A. has been instrumental in expanding its portfolio and influence; particularly within the aviation and governmental sectors where he has led the firm’s growth into a recognized leader in complex, high-performance design.
With his educational background in both Architecture and Engineering, Miguel A.'s education enables him to provide creative solutions for our clients and subconsultants alike. His ability to identify critical information, potential issues, and quickly come to an appropriate resolution before a problem arises in the field is without reproach. Miguel A. brings a unique balance of creativity and technical precision to every project. His cross-disciplinary perspective enables him to envision elegant, efficient solutions that align design intent with real-world functionality. Whether navigating stringent government standards or orchestrating large-scale aviation projects, his ability to anticipate challenges and deliver proactive, field-tested solutions has earned him the trust of clients and partners alike.

A new chapter of leadership
Most recently in 2025, we are excited to share an important milestone in the history of our firm. As part of a thoughtful and strategic transition, Miguel A. has assumed the role of President and majority owner of the firm; leading us forward with energy, vision, and a deep commitment to MLM’s mission to transform our client’s dreams into reality. Having worked side by side with his father for years, Miguel A. carries forward the same dedication to our clients, our craft, and to each of you who make this firm what it is. His leadership is rooted in both respect for our history and a clear vision for the future.
​Miguel L. founded and shaped the firm into what it is today. He will continue to guide us as Founder and Senior Vice President, ensuring that his wisdom and leadership remain a vital part of our future. While Miguel L. may look ahead to retirement in the coming years, he will remain an active part of our story in the interim and isn’t going anywhere just yet - continuing to share his guidance, mentorship, and passion for design with our staff and lead our clients to continued success with their projects!​
