Approach to Design
Aesthetic: a word with a wide meaning in the world of architecture and design. One that is of great importance to our practice. Each project design concept is developed with a unified vision in mind. This vision includes the place, user, and a future physical presence. The space is created and perceived by elements that create scale and proportion as well as light and texture. The composition of elements challenge our human senses and understanding of beauty. Our architecture, no matter how simple or complex the project, strives to achieve this end.
Quality Control
While we like to think that Quality Control is an intrinsic property of our work method, we have formulated a process as an assurance that work conforms to the highest standards possible. Checks occur on three levels because shortcomings at any of these can lead to failure of varying degrees in the building's design, systems, and details.
Budget Control
Budget Control of small projects has been an ongoing challenge due to the present construction market. During preparation, we will get involved with the client's Project Manager to develop a budget. We will assist by gathering information about the project and by visiting the site with the Cost Estimator to review the extent of the work to be performed by the design team and General Contractor. After some discussion our Cost Consultant provides us with an estimate. This allows for a realistic design budget.
Another key element in costing has been the reliability of our Cost Consultant. His background as a General Contractor makes him very knowledgeable in means and methods. On a daily basis, our Cost Consultant is involved with estimates for many projects in Central Florida. He knows the market conditions of this areas construction environment.
We have been very successful with our project estimates and in being able to implement project schedule.
